About CarSaleDoc
CarSaleDoc is an online tool that helps private sellers and buyers of used cars in the United States create a clear, signed and shareable Vehicle Bill of Sale in minutes. We focus on the four states with the highest used-car volume — California, Texas, Florida and New York — and we keep our form fields and guidance aligned with each state's DMV (or equivalent) expectations.
We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice. We build software that turns a private car sale into a clean paper trail: ID scan, VIN decode, both parties sign on screen, payment unlocks the final PDF, and both inboxes receive a signed copy. That's it.
We built CarSaleDoc because filling DMV-friendly bill of sale paperwork should not require a notary, an attorney, or printing 8 pages and chasing down the other party. It should take 3 minutes on a phone.

Who is behind the product?
CarSaleDoc is an independent, bootstrapped product. We are not affiliated with any state DMV or department of motor vehicles. Brand names and form references (MV-912, REG 135, Form 130-U, HSMV 82050) are property of their respective state agencies and used only to help users identify the correct paperwork.
How we use AI
We use OpenAI vision models to OCR a driver's license image so the buyer/seller don't have to re-type their information. The image is processed transiently and is not retained beyond the wizard session. We do not use AI to generate legal text.
